Overview

• Govind Jagganath Barge, 34, was found with a gunshot wound in a locked car near the woman's home in Sasur village of Barshi tehsil, Solapur district.
• Police say the death appears prima facie to be suicide and have registered an accidental death report at Vairag Police Station.
• Investigators say Barge had a relationship with the dancer that had recently deteriorated after arguments and she had stopped communicating with him.
• According to the FIR filed by Barge’s brother-in-law, the woman allegedly sought transfer of a newly built bungalow and five acres of farmland and threatened a false case when he refused.
• Police said Barge tried to reach her by phone and video call shortly before the shooting, and they are examining all angles in the case.
