Overview
- Three armed men entered the Caja Piura branch on Avenida Mariscal Ramón Castilla on November 3 during an attempted robbery.
 - Cornered by responding officers, one assailant shot himself and died en route to the hospital.
 - Police later detained a fleeing suspect identified as Wilson Martínez Compa, known as “El Viejo.”
 - The deceased attacker was identified as Julio Alejandro Antón Navarro, noted locally for a criminal record.
 - Divincri chief Colonel César Díaz said operations are underway in Lambayeque and Chiclayo to locate remaining accomplices, and the branch is closed during Ministerio Público procedures.
