The film features a star-studded cast including Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and John Lithgow. Fiennes plays Cardinal Lawrence, who finds himself at the center of a conspiracy as rival cardinals form factions to serve their own ambitions.
The film was produced by House Productions and FilmNation Entertainment, with a script written by Peter Straughan. It was co-financed by FilmNation Entertainment and Indian Paintbrush.
Berger, who previously interned at the company that later became Focus Features, expressed his excitement about returning to work with the company and sharing the movie with audiences in the U.S. and around the world.
The U.S. distribution deal was handled by CAA Media Finance, FilmNation Entertainment, and Indian Paintbrush. The film will also be released in other territories including Canada, the U.K., Italy, Australia, and New Zealand.
