Flying Scotsman to Lead Severn Valley Railway Reopening on July 25

  • Repairs to a collapsed embankment at Mor Brook bridge are nearing completion ahead of the full 16-mile line to Bridgnorth reopening on July 25.
  • The iconic 60103 ‘Flying Scotsman’ will haul the inaugural service and three return trips daily from July 25 to 27 as part of SVR’s Swingin’ Sixties celebration marking its 60th preservation anniversary.
  • Return trip tickets are £45 per person and go on sale at 10am on June 18, with weekend bookings granting unlimited travel on all Swingin’ Sixties services.
  • SVR’s managing director thanked the National Railway Museum, Northern Steam Operations Ltd, and DB Cargo for facilitating the locomotive’s rare guest visit.
  • The train will be paired with SVR’s vintage Gresley teak carriages along the scenic Kidderminster-to-Bridgnorth route following the River Severn.
