Flying Pig Marathon Weekend Set for May 1–3 With Rerouted Courses

Organizers shifted the marathon’s early miles into Northern Kentucky because Fourth Street Bridge construction blocks the usual path.

Overview

  • Race weekend features the marathon and Paycor Half starting downtown on Rosa Parks Street with the finish on Mehring Way, plus the CityDash relay and a post-race party at Smale Riverfront Park.
  • The marathon’s opening miles now run through Newport and Covington, cross the Licking River via the 11th Street bridge, follow Greenup Street, then head east on Fourth Street toward the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge before returning downtown.
  • From Mariemont, the marathon briefly changes course on Settle Road, Hawthorne Avenue and Southern Avenue to reach Wooster Parkway, then follows the familiar return along Columbia Parkway, Eastern Avenue and Kellogg Avenue.
  • The half-marathon follows the new shared route until the split at Woodburn Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, then uses Victory Parkway and nearby streets and heads straight from Reading Road to Eggleston Avenue to remove a previous out-and-back turn.
  • Packet pickup takes place at the P&G Health & Fitness Expo inside the First Financial Center at 525 Elm Street with no race-day pickup for the marathon or half, registration remains open for most races on the event website, and organizers urge drivers to plan for downtown closures and to reserve parking through SpotHero.
