Flyers Sign Veteran Defenseman Staal, Leafs Add Forwards

The Flyers signed 16-year NHL veteran Marc Staal to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.
Staal helped the Florida Panthers reach the Stanley Cup Final last season and has over 1,100 NHL games of experience.
The Flyers have made several depth signings this offseason, including Garnet Hathaway and Ryan Poehling.
The Maple Leafs signed Max Domi, Tyler Bertuzzi, John Klingberg, and Ryan Reaves to address their forward group.
Staal's signing is expected to fill a void on defense for the Flyers with Tony DeAngelo likely to be traded.
