Fluminense Sets Presidential Election for Nov. 29 at Laranjeiras

The statute-driven timetable places the ballot on the same day as the Libertadores final.

Overview

  • The General Assembly will run from 08:00 to 17:00 (BRT) at the Laranjeiras headquarters to choose leadership for the 2026–2028 term, including president, general vice president, and the deliberative council.
  • Candidate slates must register by Nov. 15 and present 200 signatures from proprietary or contributing members to validate their entry.
  • Four pre-candidates have been reported so far: Ademar Arrais, Celso Barros, Luis Monteagudo, and Mattheus Montenegro.
  • Voting eligibility follows Article 9 of the club statute, covering members 16 or older with at least one year of uninterrupted regular membership, or two years for Sócio Futebol under specified plans.
  • The date was set after the CBF released the Brasileirão run-in schedule and coincides with Palmeiras vs. Flamengo in Lima at 18:00 BRT, with the electorate drawn from just over 37,000 current members, down from a 2023 peak above 67,000.
