Florida’s Q3 Theme Park Injury Report Confirms Epic Universe Fatality, Details Universal and Disney Cases

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services published its third-quarter incident summary on October 15 covering August through early October.
The report lists seven Universal Orlando cases, including the September 17 death of 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala on Epic Universe’s Stardust Racers from multiple blunt impact injuries.
Stardust Racers resumed operations on October 4 with updated access rules requiring riders to be able to walk onto the attraction.
Zavala’s family retained attorney Ben Crump, is seeking records and rider accounts, and is pursuing legal action while officials continue reviews.
Walt Disney World logged four incidents in the same period across Typhoon Lagoon, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, while SeaWorld reported one and Busch Gardens and Legoland reported none.
