Florida Woman's 911 'Pizza' Call Thwarts Attempted Rape

A quick-thinking Florida woman used a coded 911 call to escape an alleged rapist, leading to the arrest of an illegal immigrant.

  • During the early hours of October 19, a Florida woman called 911 pretending to order a pizza to discreetly report an attempted rape.
  • The alleged attacker, Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo, was found on top of the woman in a field by Volusia County deputies.
  • Hernandez-Moncayo, who had applied for asylum the day before, is in the U.S. illegally and faces charges of attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment.
  • The victim and suspect initially intended to have drinks, but the situation escalated when Hernandez-Moncayo became violent after using cocaine.
  • Authorities were able to locate the victim using phone triangulation, and the suspect is now detained with an immigration hold.
