Florida Venue Cancels Marjorie Taylor Greene's Jan. 6 Commemoration Event

Event Initially Pitched as Book Signing Revealed to be Jan. 6 Attack Anniversary Celebration

  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's event commemorating the third anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol attack was cancelled by Westgate Resorts in Kissimmee, Florida, after the venue learned of its true purpose.
  • The event was initially pitched to the venue as a book signing for Greene's memoir, 'MTG', but was later revealed to be a commemoration of the Jan. 6 attack.
  • Tickets for the event ranged from $45 to $1,000, with 'Super VIP' attendees offered a private briefing on Jan. 6 and Washington, D.C., in a closed-door session.
  • Despite the cancellation, the Osceola County Republican Party, which organized the event, was still selling tickets as of Friday morning.
  • Florida state Rep. Anna Eskamani (D) publicly criticized Greene's decision to attend the event.
