Overview

  • Emely Martinez, 35, was arrested on Aug. 20 in Pinellas Park and charged with fraud and practicing dentistry without a license.
  • Police say she operated out of the Tapp Inn Beauty Bar and advertised as “Itsthe Veneerlady,” promoting full-mouth veneers for $2,500 to $3,000.
  • Victims reported infections, pain and damaged teeth requiring emergency treatment, and dentists told police the veneers appeared to be attached with Krazy Glue or nail adhesive.
  • Two complaints this summer spurred the investigation after customers said follow-up requests were ignored or refunds refused, according to arrest records.
  • Authorities note she was arrested in March in Hillsborough County on similar allegations and continued working in June and July; she remains in custody as more victims may come forward.
