Florida Teen Survives Lightning Strike While Working Outdoors

Daniel Sharkey, 17, was struck while doing yard work but credits a nearby tree for saving his life.

Sharkey was weed-whacking his neighbor's yard when lightning struck during a storm.
He was knocked unconscious and woke up face down in a puddle, unable to move or scream.
Neighbors rushed to help him, and he was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Doctors say Sharkey is recovering well, though he remains in pain.
Lightning strikes in the U.S. are rare, with odds less than one in a million each year.
