Florida Sting Operation Arrests 157 in Human Trafficking Crackdown

Polk County Sheriff's Office led a multi-agency effort resulting in arrests for prostitution-related crimes and identified potential trafficking victims.

Operation Autumn Sweep, initiated by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, targeted illegal activities related to prostitution and human trafficking.
Among those arrested, 25 individuals were identified as being illegally present in the United States, with some allegedly receiving federal benefits.
The operation, which began on October 2, was cut short by Hurricane Milton but still resulted in significant arrests, including three individuals accused of planning to sexually assault children.
Authorities identified four potential victims of human trafficking, with some reporting they were smuggled into the U.S. and forced to repay large debts.
The sting revealed broader issues of border security and government assistance programs, as highlighted by Sheriff Judd's comments on federal policies.
