Florida State's star defensive end, Jared Verse, has declared for the NFL Draft, opting out of the upcoming Orange Bowl.
Verse, a redshirt junior, has had back-to-back nine-sack seasons and 41 tackles this fall.
He transferred from Albany to Florida State, where he became the first two-time, first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference defensive end since 1995-96.
Verse is projected to be selected with the No. 17 pick on The Athletic’s first mock draft.
He is ranked as the No. 1 edge rusher and No. 8 overall player in the 2024 class according to B/R's latest draft big board.
