Florida School Employee Suspended for Violating Transgender Sports Law

Jessica Norton receives a 10-day unpaid suspension for allowing her transgender daughter to play on a girls' volleyball team, defying state regulations.

The Broward County School Board voted 5-4 to suspend Jessica Norton without pay.
Norton, a computer information specialist, also lost her position but will be reassigned.
The suspension follows Norton's violation of the Fairness in Women's Sports Act.
The act, signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, prohibits transgender females from participating in girls' sports teams.
Norton and her family are plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit challenging the law.
