Florida Roofing Company's "Roof and Gobble" Promotion Offers AR-15 and Turkey with Purchase of New Roof

Roof EZ sees business uptick with eight roofs sold in first two days of controversial "Roof and Gobble" promotion, while critics condemn the scheme for contributing to a "culture of gun violence".

  • The 'Roof and Gobble' promotion by Florida roofing company Roof EZ offers a free AR-15 and a turkey to anyone purchasing a roof. The company aims to promote home and family safety with these incentives.
  • Within two business days of the promotion's launch, Roof EZ sold eight roofs and received around 50 inquiries. The company normally sells 30 to 50 roofs per month but hopes the promotion will boost sales to between 60 and 100.
  • The promotion, although legal, has sparked controversy with critics arguing it contributes to a culture of firearms violence. The AR-15, while popular, is also associated with some of the deadliest mass shootings in the country.
  • Customers have to wait until their roof is completed before they can pick up the gun, with concealed carry permit holders able to pick up the AR-15 immediately. Customers without a permit have to wait three days or until they pass a background check.
  • The promotion supports Second Amendment rights according to Jason Polly, the president of Roof EZ. He also hopes the participating gun store will provide free shooting training to anyone who gets the weapon through the promotion.
