Matthew Tkachuk, a key forward for the Florida Panthers, will not play in Saturday's game against the Seattle Kraken due to a lower-body injury.
The injury was initially sustained during the 4 Nations Face-Off, where Tkachuk played for Team USA and was limited in the tournament final against Canada on February 20, 2025.
Panthers head coach Paul Maurice announced that Tkachuk will undergo further testing over the next two days to determine the next steps for his recovery.
Tkachuk has been a standout player this season, contributing 22 goals and 35 assists for the Panthers, who are in a competitive stretch of their season.
Three other Panthers players also participated in the 4 Nations Face-Off, including Sam Bennett and Sam Reinhart for Canada and Aleksander Barkov for Finland.
