Florida Man Fatally Struck While Crossing I-95 Amid Loose Cash Chaos

Kevin Elliot McCort, a 61-year-old from Ocala, Florida, was hit by a Volkswagen SUV while crossing the northbound lanes of I-95 in Providence.
The incident occurred around 5:40 a.m. near the Eddy/Barton Street exit, leading to the closure of the highway's northbound lanes for about an hour.
McCort had initially stopped his car on the highway's southbound side before attempting to cross the northbound lanes where he was struck.
Eyewitnesses reported people collecting loose cash on the highway, though it remains unclear if McCort was attempting to do the same.
No charges have been filed against the SUV driver, and the Rhode Island State Police continue to investigate the incident.
