Florida Man Charged with Threatening to Kill Political Opponent in 2021 GOP Primary

William Robert Braddock, 41, of St. Petersburg, Florida, has been charged with making a death threat against his GOP primary opponent in 2021.
Braddock allegedly threatened to use a 'Russian-Ukrainian hit squad' to make his opponent, Anna Paulina Luna, 'disappear.'
After the threats were made, Braddock dropped out of the race and fled to the Philippines, where he was later found and deported.
He made his initial court appearance in Los Angeles and faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison if convicted.
The indictment is part of the Justice Department's effort to clamp down on threats against election workers ahead of the upcoming elections.
