Florida Man Charged With Murder in Caught-on-Video Brooklyn Block Party Shooting

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage alongside witness accounts to determine what prompted the fatal shooting of Roberto Cuevas at the Sunset Park gathering.

  • Tony Caba, 39, of Kissimmee, Florida, has been charged with murder and criminal weapons possession after video shows him firing five shots at close range into Roberto Cuevas on Fourth Avenue near 57th Street.
  • Cuevas, 45, was seated in a plastic chair at the block party shortly before 9:15 p.m. Saturday and later died at NYU Langone–Brooklyn from a gunshot wound to the back.
