• Henny Rojas, who has trained in mixed martial arts for about three years, said he used only his hands to restrain the man who entered his family’s home on Sept. 27.
• The intruder was identified by police as 31-year-old Austin Caresani, who was arrested on a home invasion charge without a firearm or weapon.
• A judge set Caresani’s bond at $20,000 and ordered him to stay away from the family and their Wilton Manors residence.
• A Broward County booking photo and court footage showed Caresani with visible cuts and bruises following the confrontation.
• Rojas said his teenage nephew alerted him to the stranger in the living room while the boy’s parents were away, and a neighbor described seeing the suspect being subdued on scene.
