Florida Man Arrested for Abducting Ohio Teen He Met on 'World of Warcraft'

Authorities located the missing girl after she logged into her gaming account from the suspect's home.

Thomas Ebersole, a 31-year-old Florida man, was arrested for allegedly abducting a 16-year-old Ohio girl he met online through the video game 'World of Warcraft'.
Ebersole allegedly drove over 10 hours to Ohio to pick up the girl, with plans to hide her in his home and eventually marry her.
Authorities were able to locate the missing teen after she logged into her 'World of Warcraft' account from Ebersole's home, leading them to his address.
Ebersole initially denied knowing the girl but later admitted to having a 'romantic relationship' with her and showed authorities messages between them on the messaging app Discord.
Ebersole has been charged with traveling to meet a minor to engage in sexual activity, interfering with child custody, and sheltering an unmarried minor. He is currently being held without bond.
