Nugent, a standout from American Heritage in Plantation, Florida, announced his commitment after visiting Gainesville for Florida’s Junior Day on Jan. 24.
He is a four-star recruit ranked No. 13 at cornerback and No. 105 overall in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports.
The 5-foot-11, roughly 178–180-pound prospect chose the Gators over offers including Georgia and Indiana, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Nugent highlighted Florida’s culture, a face-to-face meeting with new head coach Jon Sumrall, and his longstanding relationship with cornerbacks coach Brandon Harris as key factors.
