Florida Grandfather Fatally Shot by Neighbor During Thanksgiving Music Dispute

Hureleyon McLean, a 71-year-old grandfather, was shot and killed on Thanksgiving in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, during an altercation with his downstairs neighbor over loud music.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the Somerset Drive apartments, where McLean was celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends.
The neighbor, who remains unnamed, reportedly approached McLean's apartment to complain about the music before McLean went downstairs to speak with him, resulting in the fatal shooting.
The shooter was detained at the scene, cooperated with law enforcement, and claimed the shooting was in self-defense, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
The case remains under investigation, with detectives set to present their findings to the Broward County State Attorney's Office to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
