Overview

• Aaron Johnson, 29, faced multiple felony warrants for domestic battery, aggravated assault with a weapon, criminal mischief and felony tampering.
• He began posting taunting comments under Polk County Sheriff’s Office Facebook posts on June 3, daring deputies to catch him.
• The sheriff’s office replied “Challenge accepted” and enlisted the Lakeland Police Department to assist in the search.
• Officers located and arrested Johnson on June 17 before transporting him to the Polk County Jail.
• Johnson has been booked in Polk County Jail several times since 2015 on charges including drug possession, burglary and domestic assault.
