Florida executes inmate Duane Owen after 38 years on death row for 1984 murders of teen babysitter and mother

Duane Owen was executed in Florida after 38 years on death row for killing a 14-year-old babysitter and a 38-year-old mother in 1984.
Owen received death sentences for raping and fatally stabbing the babysitter and raping and bludgeoning the mother.
Owen attacked two other women who survived but was sentenced to six life terms for those crimes as well as death sentences for the murders.
Owen's lawyers argued he was insane but courts rejected appeals and the execution was carried out.
Owen had no visitors for his last meal and his execution was witnessed by victims' family members.
