Overview
- Deputies responded Sunday to a family member’s call about an assault at a Hillsborough County home near Tampa.
 - Deputy Anthony Gonzalez kicked in a bedroom door, confronted a man in body armor holding a knife to a child’s throat, issued repeated warnings, then fired once and pulled the boy to safety.
 - The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 27-year-old Mario Camacho, and officials said the child was his younger brother whom he had been choking.
 - Body-worn camera footage recorded the encounter and is central to the account of the shooting.
