Florida Deputy Charged with Manslaughter After Fatally Shooting Girlfriend

Leslie Boileau, an eight-year veteran of the Marion County Sheriff's Office, was immediately terminated after the incident.
The fatal shooting happened late Thursday night as Boileau and his girlfriend, Polina Wright, were handling and dry-firing firearms.
Boileau admitted to police that he accidentally discharged a loaded round while demonstrating the use of a rifle.
Both had been drinking earlier in the evening, having consumed three margaritas each at dinner before returning home.
The Ocala Police Department, corroborating Boileau's account with physical evidence, has charged him with manslaughter and he is being held without bond.
