Florida Democrats have reportedly excluded all presidential candidates except incumbent President Joe Biden from the primary ballot, effectively cancelling the March 19 vote.
Democratic candidates Marianne Williamson, Dean Phillips, and Cenk Uygur have expressed outrage over the decision, accusing the Florida Democratic Party of unfairly rigging the process and considering legal action.
The Florida Democratic Party contends that it followed protocol accordingly and has been transparent about the balloting process.
Under Florida law, the state party decides who makes the presidential primary ballot. The Florida Democratic Party decided that only people nominated and approved at its Oct. 29 convention would make the ballot.
Phillips, virtually unknown to most Americans, launched his presidential bid Oct. 27, becoming the first elected Democrat to challenge Biden for the nomination.
