Overview
- Suspects Natalie Fonseca and Nafis Reynolds, a Floridian couple, were arrested on multiple charges including attempted murder and robbery. They allegedly lured a man through a Facebook date, abducted him, robbed him, and threw him off a bridge after taking turns to slash his throat.
- The suspects allegedly stole the victim's shoes, phone, money and car keys. They believed he was dead when they left the scene, taking his stolen car which was later found burned and abandoned.
- Despite sustaining severe injuries and being thrown into the Escambia River, the victim managed to survive. He swam to shore and flagged down a sheriff’s deputy from a parking lot the next day, leading law enforcement to his attackers.
- The victim's identity has not been disclosed. His narrative led to the arrest of the accused couple, also identified through surveillance footage from a store. Both suspects were spotted walking in Ensley town and found to be in possession of fentanyl when arrested.
- Currently, Fonseca is held on a bond of $852,000 and Reynolds on a bond of $851,000. It remains unclear whether the accused have entered pleas or have legal representation.
