Overview
- Operation Dragon Eye, also known as Dragonfly, spanned two weeks in June across Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties.
- The U.S. Marshals Service joined more than 100 personnel from over 20 federal, state and local agencies in what officials called the largest missing-child rescue in U.S. history.
- Law enforcement officers recovered 60 youths aged nine to 17 who were classified as critically missing due to heightened risks of violence, exploitation or substance abuse.
- Authorities arrested eight individuals on charges that included human trafficking, child endangerment, drug possession and custodial interference.
- Nonprofit groups such as More Too Life and the Children’s Home Network are providing medical, psychological and housing support to the recovered children.
