Florida AG Announces Arrest of Palm Beach Couple in Alleged Organized Retail Theft Spree

Statewide prosecutors cite the arrests as an early result of a new task force created to pursue cross-county retail theft.

Overview

  • Attorney General James Uthmeier said Caleb Rashaun Frederick and Ne'osha Lasha Taylor were arrested in connection with more than 40 thefts totaling about $31,000 across Palm Beach and Broward counties.
  • Frederick faces one count of organized retail theft, five counts of dealing in stolen property and one count of false verification of ownership.
  • Taylor is charged with one count of organized retail theft and four counts of dealing in stolen property.
  • Investigators allege the pair targeted major chains and resold household appliances and laundry products on Facebook Marketplace, working together with one acting as a lookout.
  • The Office of Statewide Prosecution is handling the case under a new Retail Theft Special Task Force, with prosecutors Chris Olowin and Monique Wilson assigned, and officials say possible sentences could reach 95 and 75 years if convictions occur.
