Overview
- FlixBus said it will begin service in late September on a Lima–Chimbote–Trujillo route using buses and drivers provided by Grupo Polo through its Prominpro/Allin affiliates and has started selling tickets.
- Grupo Polo and Prominpro state they are the authorised operator who will answer passenger claims and manage day-to-day trips while FlixBus supplies the ticketing platform, pricing and commercial tools.
- Transport guilds COTRAP and APOIP demand that passengers be told before purchase which company holds route permits, owns the buses, hires drivers and is legally liable for accidents, lost luggage, delays and refunds.
- FlixBus and Grupo Polo point to onboard devices and a 24-hour control center to monitor driver fatigue and alcohol as safety measures, but Peru's transport ministry previously denied FlixBus authorization and regulators have not publicly resolved how the model fits the law.
