Flexport Sues Freightmate AI Founders Over Alleged Theft of Trade Secrets

Flexport has filed a lawsuit against Freightmate AI, accusing its founders of stealing thousands of confidential documents, including source code and customer data.
The lawsuit alleges that Freightmate COO Yingwei Zhao downloaded over 70,000 files while still employed at Flexport and used methods to conceal his actions.
Freightmate admits to possessing some Flexport files but claims they were inadvertently retained and not utilized in its operations.
Flexport contends that Freightmate’s rapid growth, including its launch of Docmate and $5 million seed funding, would not have been possible without the allegedly stolen data.
The lawsuit seeks monetary damages, the return of proprietary documents, and an injunction to prevent Freightmate from using any misappropriated information.
