Overview

• A 3:45 a.m. collision near the Whitestone Bridge involved a moped, a Honda Pilot and a Honda Accord on the Hutchinson River Parkway
• The moped operator briefly stopped then sped away, leaving the 18-year-old female passenger with life-threatening injuries
• Six occupants of the two SUVs sustained minor injuries and were treated at Jacobi Medical Center
• All northbound lanes of the parkway were closed for hours while authorities examined the scene
• The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad has made no arrests and continues searching for the hit-and-run driver
