Flavor Frenzy Owner Faces Civil Suit Alleging Grooming After Second Hidden Camera Reported

Attorneys say investigators also found a hidden camera at his home.

Overview

  • Attorneys for a 19-year-old former employee filed a Cook County lawsuit alleging Steven Weisberg groomed her through his Flavor Frenzy job and seeks at least $50,000 per count for three claims, including invasion of privacy and violations of the Illinois Gender Violence Act.
  • The complaint describes inappropriate touching, sexually suggestive comments, offers of drugs and alcohol, and a visit to Weisberg’s home where the plaintiff says she was secretly recorded after being invited to shower.
  • Lawyers for the plaintiff say authorities located a second hidden camera at Weisberg’s Buffalo Grove residence, building on evidence from the ice cream shop investigation.
  • DuPage County prosecutors charged Weisberg in August with two counts of child pornography and two counts of unauthorized video recording after Addison police found a disguised outlet camera in the shop restroom and reported 11 videos on his phone, including one depicting a 16-year-old.
  • Flavor Frenzy is closed and its business license was surrendered, additional teenage employees have reported incidents, Weisberg remains in custody, and his next court appearance is set for Sept. 15.
