Overview
- The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning at 10:55 a.m. PST, in effect until 2:00 p.m. PST for southeastern Santa Barbara County.
- Doppler radar and gauges measured 0.5 to 1.0+ inches of rain per hour with flash flooding ongoing or imminent and hazards including rock and mud slides.
- Areas under warning include Santa Barbara, Goleta, Carpinteria, Isla Vista, Montecito, Summerland, La Conchita, Mission Canyon, Hope Ranch, and the Santa Barbara Airport.
- CalTrans reported mudslides that shut Highway 101 in both directions near Goleta, with southbound traffic diverted at Highway 1 north of Gaviota and northbound at Winchester Canyon, and Highway 154 available as an alternate route with no reopening time estimated.
