Flames Promote Legend Conroy to General Manager Role

Craig Conroy is set to replace Brad Treliving as the Calgary Flames' general manager.
Conroy played for the Flames for parts of nine seasons and has worked in their front office since 2011.
The Flames were not expecting to need to fill the general manager position this offseason.
Under Treliving's leadership over nine seasons, the Flames made the playoffs five times but missed them this past season.
Flames' legend Jerome Iginla endorsed Conroy as "a really good candidate" for the general manager role in late April.
