FKA Twigs Withdraws Abuse Lawsuit Against Shia LaBeouf After Private Settlement

Her dismissal with prejudice under a private settlement prevents any future legal action on the same abuse claims.

Overview

  • FKA Twigs filed her civil suit in December 2020 accusing Shia LaBeouf of sexual, physical and emotional abuse during their 2018–2019 relationship.
  • She sought $10 million in emotional damages and detailed incidents such as being thrown against a car, attempted strangulation and non-consensual STD transmission.
  • The lawsuit endured years of discovery battles and repeated trial postponements before a hearing was scheduled for September.
  • On July 18 Twigs moved to dismiss the case with prejudice and on July 21 the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles recorded its closure under a confidential agreement.
  • Lawyers for both parties released a joint statement affirming their commitment to mutual goodwill while keeping the settlement terms sealed.
