Five-Year-Old Dies After Parking Meter Falls at Bunbury Museum

Sammy, a five-year-old boy, was critically injured when a disused parking meter fell on him at the Bunbury Museum in Western Australia on January 15.
He was treated at Bunbury Regional Hospital and later airlifted to Perth Children’s Hospital, where he died two days later on January 17.
The family released a statement expressing gratitude for the support they received and remembering Sammy for his joyful and playful nature.
WorkSafe has launched an investigation into the incident, and police will prepare a report for the coroner to determine how the meter fell.
The Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre remains closed as the community mourns the loss, with flowers laid in tribute outside the museum.
