Five Teens’ Charges Upgraded to Murder in Shellharbour Stabbing, Bringing Total to Seven Accused

The upgrades follow a months-long strike force investigation that seized an SUV for forensic testing.

  • NSW Police said five of six previously charged teens — a 13-year-old, two 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy — now face murder counts.
  • A 15-year-old had already been charged with murder earlier this year, bringing the tally to six children plus 39-year-old Tamara Lee Doust.
  • Prosecutors filed a murder charge certificate for Ms Doust, and an earlier accessory-after-the-fact charge will be withdrawn.
  • Court listings show the 16-year-old is due on October 21, with the remaining five teens set for October 28 in children’s court.
  • Investigators from Strike Force Feods with the Homicide Squad allege the group left in an SUV later seized in Albion Park Rail, with some accused in custody and others on conditional bail.
