Overview

• Gunfire erupted just before 9 p.m. on Sept. 22 in the outdoor area of the Commissioner’s Corner Apartments on the 10700 block of Montana Avenue.
• Two females and three males, ages 15 to 17, were hospitalized, with one female possibly in critical condition and four patients reported with non-life-threatening injuries.
• El Paso police said a fight preceded the shooting, and Officer Adrian Cisneros reported that a man began firing as the altercation escalated.
• The apartment complex remains closed for an active investigation involving the Crimes Against Persons unit, the Gang Unit, and the Crime Scene Unit.
