Overview

• Security forces from Sedena, Semar, FGR, Guardia Nacional, SSPC, Edomex agencies and SSC-CDMX executed a coordinated search in Colonia Las Brisas, Acolman, on September 20.
• Authorities say the cell operated from Iztapalapa and is linked to extortion, drug trafficking, homicide, robbery and violent dispossession of properties.
• Among the five detainees are sisters Wendy Bonito Flores and Erika Bonito Flores, identified as the group's leaders, along with Nadie Metzli Ortega Sánchez, Brandon Escobar Rangel and Erick Aranda Hernández.
• The raid followed fixed and mobile surveillance that produced evidence presented to a Juez de Control, who granted the warrant to intervene the property.
• Two vehicles, two motorcycles, phones, computing equipment, ammunition, drugs and cash — reported as 57,000 pesos by some outlets — were seized; the site was sealed and the detainees were turned over to the Ministerio Público.
