Jeremiah Fears, a five-star point guard, has committed to the University of Illinois, choosing the Illini over offers from Providence, Michigan, Mississippi, Kansas and more.
Fears, currently attending Arizona Compass Prep, is a top-50 player according to ESPN, 247 Sports, and Rivals, with ESPN ranking him No. 16 overall in the class of 2025.
He is the younger brother of Michigan State guard Jeremy Fears and was a standout player at Joliet West High School in suburban Chicago before transferring to Arizona Compass Prep.
Fears aims to be a 'hometown hero' and has expressed his desire to win a national championship with Illinois.
This is Illinois' first five-star commitment since the ESPN recruiting database began in 2007.
