Overview

• A Guwahati court remanded Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddharth Sharma, Sandipan Garg, Paresh Baishya and Nandeswar Bora to 14 days in judicial custody after their police remand ended.
• Two other accused, bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and singer Amritprava Mahanta, remain in police remand until October 17 as part of the seven arrests on charges including murder and criminal conspiracy.
• Three more Singapore-based Assamese — Sushmita Goswami, Pratim Bhuyan and Debojyoti Hazarika — appeared before the SIT, bringing to 10 the number of the 11 summoned witnesses who have recorded statements.
• Singapore authorities emailed via the Indian High Commission seeking the names of Assam officers and the scope of their proposed visit; the CID has replied and awaits permission under MLAT to investigate on site.
