Overview
- A Guwahati court sent organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, manager Siddharth Sharma, cousin-officer Sandipan Garg, and personal security officers Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya to 14-day judicial custody before their transfer to Baksa district jail.
- Protesters hurled stones at the convoy outside Baksa District Jail, injuring police and journalists and torching vehicles, which led officers to use baton charges, tear gas and warning shots to disperse the crowd.
- Prohibitory orders were enforced around the jail and in Mushalpur, and mobile internet was suspended across Baksa district as additional forces were deployed to stabilise the area.
