Overview
- Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested IIP directors Amitav Roy, Jaydeep Goswami and Subhendu Kumar Paul along with consultant Rohit Raj and printer Dharmender.
- The three directors were detained in Kolkata on September 19, and based on their interrogation Raj and Dharmender were picked up in Delhi on September 25.
- The ITBP Constable (Tradesman) written test for 46,174 candidates on January 10, 2021 was preceded by a WhatsApp circulation of a paper later confirmed identical to the original.
- IIP had been contracted to set, print and secure the exam process, and investigators say the firm outsourced parts of the work in violation of confidentiality obligations.
- An FIR under IPC sections 409, 420, 120-B and 34 was filed at Lodhi Colony police station, and the Crime Branch has seized contracts and documents as it probes a wider nexus.
