Five Charged Over Alleged French Defence-Secrets Leak

From leaking classified documents to unauthorised war-materials trade, the accusations span activities at a firm whose suspected Russia links were not upheld judicially

Overview

  • On May 24, the DGSI arrested and placed under judicial supervision five individuals linked to the economic-intelligence firm Archange Solutions Osint over alleged breaches of national defence secrecy
  • The Paris public prosecutor’s office filed charges on June 3 accusing them of stealing, diverting, reproducing and disclosing classified defence documents and of unauthorised intermediation in war-materials trade
  • Three of those charged are former military officers, two of whom previously held sensitive roles such as risk analysis at the Élysée Palace
  • David B., a French citizen born in Tajikistan in 1991, is identified as the main suspect after founding Archange Solutions Osint in September 2024
  • Defence lawyers say the investigating judge has retained only the least serious charges so far and pledge to demonstrate their clients’ innocence
