- Police took Ashfak Rayan, Vinod Agrawal, Mohammed Umar Munihar, Dashrath Maurya and Yakub Abdul Gaffar into custody on June 1 and have filed murder and related charges.

- Verma’s son filed a missing person complaint on May 25, leading police to identify the recovered body, which had already been cremated by Kamrej authorities.
- Authorities have obtained confessions from the five arrested suspects and are still searching for another labourer, Ajay Banwasi, who escaped the scene.
