Overview

• National Police detained five men in separate incidents after three residential break-ins investigated during mid to late September in Elche.
• On September 19, officers set up a perimeter and arrested suspects aged 34 and 27 as they tried to flee a ground-floor home, preventing any theft.
• In the early hours of September 20, an unmarked patrol saw a man handing a television from a first-floor sign to an accomplice; two men aged 19 and 50 were arrested and the TV was returned.
• A completed theft in the Santa Ana area led Policía Judicial to identify a 33-year-old who allegedly stole a moped from a home outbuilding; he was arrested on September 25 in El Rebolledo.
• All five face robbery with force charges and were placed at the disposal of the Juzgado de Instrucción de Guardia de Elx, as police also urged residents to follow basic security measures and call 091 to report suspicious activity.
